BITSAT doesn't have centralized counselling like JEE Main or NEET. Once you get your result, BITS will release its merit list and admission offer directly to you. You'll just need to accept the offer and complete the admission formalities on their portal, no separate counselling registration needed.
Your exam result is just your score and rank, it tells you how you performed. Counselling is what happens next. it's the process where you register your choices of colleges and programs, and seats get allocated based on your rank and preferences. So result comes first, then counselling uses that result to match you with a college.

After JEE Main results, you'll get your rank and score. Top performers qualify for JEE Advanced (for IITs). Most students then participate in counseling for NITs, IIITs, and other government colleges through JoSAA. The exact timeline and process comes out after results are declared.
